Our goal is to provide FUN outdoor adventures, where safety and quality experiences are important. Inhale the fresh air and watch the breath taking moments as the birds commit and lock their wings. The guides love sharing the triumph of bagging birds with first time hunters, or seasoned hunters who get just as excited as the young hunters.
Numerous clients have literally hunted around the world, and their consistent comment is that the best all around hunting experience was at Burbank Guide Service. Therefore, no need to look elsewhere for true ‘World Class Hunting’.
Come and experience memory making hunts for yourself and harvest some delicious grain feed birds. Many hunters schedule their annual trips for family and friends. Burbank has a high level of repeat business due to the professionally trained guides, quality‘set ups’ and attention to detail which provides consistent opportunities.
Paul manages his private properties all season long to provide ‘Fields that Yield’.
Why go so else where, when Burbank is as good as it gets?
Specialty: Geese & Greenheads.
Originally Burbank specialized in Canadian Geese, but after the abundant successful from the small lakes Paul developed (aka Paul's Ponds), the Mallard hunting demand has matched the goose hunting. Burbank is one of Washington's best kept secrets, since Burbank has the most consistent hunting area in Eastern Washington (all season long).
The big boys, the Great Canadian Honkers, which live in the Columbia Basin are the ultimate trophy bird and are harvested all season long. Of course the fat Greenheads are prized also. Many birds have been mounted to bring lasting memories. Mounting these trophy birds will bring lasting memories. The taxidermist can meet you right after your hunt and will accommodate your desires.
‘World Class Waterfowl Hunts’, with generous limits of 7 Greenheads and 4 Canadian Honkers.
Location.

Burbank is surrounded by mountains which provides a 'micro climate', since it is located almost 500 miles inland and approx. 500 feet above sea level. This small 'banana belt' has mild winters, flowing rivers (Columbia, Snake Rivers and Yakima) all season long, 5 refuges and abundant crop fields to hold the waterfowl all season long.. The 300+ days of sunshine a year provides a long growing season and variety of crops. The waterways bring them and the many refuges and food keeps 'em creating a huge wintering ground for waterfowl.
Burbank is nestled in SE corner of Washington State. This rural community is just east of Pasco, which is also know as the Tri-Cites (Richland, Kennewick & Pasco).
After the hunt rest or take in some of the local sites, such as visiting some of the award winning winery's. Burbank is in the heart of the largest wine growing area in Washington which is at the same parallel as France. Many local wines have ranked in the top 100 world wines!. Also there are first class restaurants, shopping and museums.
Best Time:
In November the migratory birds follow the mighty rivers to Burbank, which is at the confluence of the Columbia and Snake River. The naturally carved waterways, from the rivers, funnel the birds to our area and the many refuges and the abundant agriculture fields keeps ‘em here all season long, until the end of January. When other areas freeze up, our abundant free flowing water keeps the birds and offers hunting opportunities from October thru January (the end of the season).
Accessibility:
Multiple airlines service Pasco (just 10 minutes from Burbank) from Seattle, Portland, Denver and Salt Lake City. Driving time from Seattle or Portland is 3 ½ hrs and from Spokane is 2 hours, non-stop on good roads. If you are not flying directly into Pasco, then Spokane offer the best road conditions and shortest travel time for driving. From Seattle the mountain pass posses challenges along with closures and from Portland the road along mighty Columbia River can be icy or very foggy.
Goose Notes:
We bag 7 different subspecies of geese in our flyway, including the ‘Great Columbia Basin  Honker’.  Paul has been called the "Waterfowl Master", “Goose Guru”, etc., due to knowledge of waterfowl  habits-his passion for over 30 years. His is an Aeronautical Engineer. He has transferred his love of flight to the love of waterfowl. By paying great attention to details, he knows how to get geese and ducks ‘backwinging™’ in at close range. No pass shooting, which can cripple birds. Location matters, with the in ground pits ( occasionally other blinds) strategically located to provide in your face shooting in proven private fields, with proven guides who are expert callers and quality decoys. Yes the weather 'bests us' once in a while, but not very often!
Duck Notes:
The Mallard hunting is at one of “Paul’s Ponds- Green Heads only", or on the river. The Burbank area holds a lot of Green Heads all season long, along with some divers too. To assist in maintaining our bird population there is a $ 5 bounty (volunteer donation) put on each hen bagged, which is then donated annually to a waterfowl  conservation group, such as Ducks Unlimited or Washington State Waterfowl  Association. The last couple of years, we have been able to provide continual limits or opportunities of greenheads up to the last day of the season. Our generous bag limit has been 7 greenheads!
Equipment;
Expect only the finest equipment and the best set ups available! Each year Paul and the guides work at refining the hunt and the equipment. Burbank is the proving ground for sister company, Aero Outdoors. Hunt with Aero's DropZone Elite Goose Decoys, Full Curl Duck Decoys, Deadly Duck Blinds (which offer comfortable chairs and easy shooting) and custom pit blinds for geese. More information on the products can be found at, www.AeroOutdoors.com . Paul ensures all products are 'targeted for success' for all hunters.
One of Burbank's success secrets is that Paul designs products to be a problem solvers or to enhance the outdoor experience. Some of the guides were hesitant at first to try new products, but after seeing the success and enhancement to the hunt, they quickly wanted them in their set ups. Their input is important to Aero's success.
He and his guides continually remodel and update the ‘set ups’ annually.
Due to repeat business and TV shows, little advertising is needed to fill all the pits/blinds every hunt day which frees up monies for land and equipment enhancements. Each year the hunters are amazed at the improvments too.
Owner/Operator:
Paul Sullivan, owner and chief guide, has been outfitting hunters for over 35 years. His engineering background has taught him to analyze all facets of the hunt an evaluate the adaptations needed for various circumstances. Wanting only the very best has led him to developing his own farms and equipment, to assist in making the outdoor experience enjoyable and successful.
Paul’s passion for waterfowl hunting led him to become a land developer, farmer, as well as a business man and landowner. Having control of the land enables Paul to have greater consistency, to offer quality hunts all season long. Paul’s expertise and friendly, professional operation has led Burbank Guide Service to be in many TV shows, videos and magazine articles.
The Hunt:
All fields are scouted daily. Blinds are strategically located in ‘hot spots’ and designed to hold 5 hunters, plus the guide in the center. Safety is imperative, therefore refer to the ‘hunt rules’ and listen to the guides daily briefing. All fields are located in the key proven, traffic patterns between feeding and resting. It is not the quantity of acres, but the location and management that makes a guide service successful.
Goose hunting
starts with meeting the guide about 1 1/2 hour before shooting time. Hunters are taken to one of 12+ permanent pits in Burbank or 4 portable Maximus Honker above ground blinds, a spread of 2-4 dozen of DropZone Decoys and expert caller to finish the deal. Sometimes a remote location is used...if that is where the birds and best opportunities are for that day.
Duck hunts
start with a meeting time around 8 to 9 AM. Then the guide will lead the hunters to the private ponds or along the rivers, with limits of Greenheads being the rule. The ‘Deadly Duck’ Maximus Blind offers shooting ease in comfortable director’s chairs with Full Curl Duck Decoys and Flutter-Wing decoys to bring'em in. The blinds hold 5 hunter and one guide, with on occasion 2 blinds being filled.
Meals and lodging:
Multiple major hotels are only 6-10 miles from meeting locations. Pasco airport has rental cars and 2 adjacent major hotels. Other hotels are 20 minutes away with some close to the shopping mall to entertain ‘non-shooters’. Burbank offers no rooms or meals, except in packages or at a B & B in Burbank or with inclusive packages.
