Identification:Short
black tip, adapted to pastar grass. The male is white, with cross-sectional
black rays in chest and belly, whereas the female has a color cinnamon,
also atigrado. The legs are black in the male whereas yellow in
the female. The female can be confused by its aspect with the red
Cauquén (Chloephaga rubidiceps) or with the Cauquén
de Gray Cabeza (Chloephaga poliocephala)
Location:Cauquén
common greater (leucoptera Chloephaga picta) is present in the Falklands
islands and is a sedentary bird. Cauquén common minor (Chloephaga
picta picta) lives in Chile and Argentina. The units that we can
contemplate in the Isabel Park the Catholic are, therefore, introduced
and are present all the year.
