Hungary
Hunt Extraordinaire! It
is so fantastic, we keep going back.
We
are planning another Pheasant Hunting trip to Hungry in 2007.
"Hungary
is like the Dakotas in the old days", Paul says..
All wild birds with lots of opportunities. You can see the pheasants
running along ahead of you.
The excitement really starts when the
groups start to approach one another and the birds flush, seemingly
everywhere! And they keep flushing. (Of course all safety percussions
are taken.)
Easy walking. WALK UP, and not a driven shoot.
Paul has shot 40 pheasants in one day. It
is easy to shoot 10-20 per morning. However since they manage their
game, you can not shoot another pheasant until you find the a down
bird you just shot. We usually have a fun Ducks hunt one morning,
but they are not our focus. The hares (they will surprise you as to
how hard they are to hit) and foxes are part of the hunt, to eliminate
the predators. Safety is a must, so some bright orange is suggested.
We will be departing on approx.
October 27th this year for the 8 or 9 day trip which includes
3 hunt days and touring of Vienna and Budapest. Plus
this year you can add on a 3 day trip onto the end to Salzburg (to
Sound of Music Set), which will make the trip a 11 day trip.
However, many extend their trip and enjoy more of Europe. See the
Links below for further information for 2007
|
A
trip of a life time, at a very
affordable rate.
Last year we harvested over 240 pheasants with 6 shooters
in 3 days!
The prefect trip; great hunting, a taste
of foreign culture and quality time
spent with friends/family.
Join
us for a relaxing adventure...
you will be glad you did!

Beside the hunting, the sight seeing is fantastic.
The palace is in Vienna-end Nov.
Choose pre-arranged tours or time on your own. |
Paul
and I have done this trip four times and enjoyed each trip more
than the previous trip. The hunting area in Sarvas, Hungry,
is a beautiful, pristine summer vacation location, which is
along the Teza River in southern Hungary.
Sarvas is a safe area with proven
managed hunting, along with fine accommodations and dining!
It is home to a major university.
The area is a flat agriculture
mecca, some times called the bread basket of Europe. Most of
the fields have circle irrigation and the crops are predominantly
corn. They manage the wildlife and leave plenty of cover along
the field edges and water canals, where we walk.
Therefore there are plenty of
wild pheasants to stalk or walk up to, (no driven hunts), ducks
and some predators to harvest too (hares and foxes). Plus the
ride in fields in the old Russian trucks are an experience in
itself.

This
is a great hunt to bring your friends, families, youth
and wives.
Hunters last year who didn't bring their wives or friends,
lamented that they wish they had.
Especially after they experienced the wonderful trip,
the great food, rooms, the sites, the fun, and great countries.
There are many stops in Vienna, Budapest and along the
countryside.
The food is fabulous!
Suzanne usually hunts 2 out of the three days.
Spouses
can rest, take walks, tour the shops and museums. |

This is an excellent buy for a overseas trip, for this quality of
hunting!
Don't miss the opportunity to see the real Europe countryside, along
with historical cities.orry that you took advantage of this great
hunt.
We have many satisfied references!
Past Trip:
On the left, John Haler's son, John IV, is recording the results
of each drive.
SARVAS:
The accommodations are great, but we must reserve space in advance
in Sarvas, because the best places are limited and they go fast
(usually to the Italian hunters). Sarvas is not a large city, but
a very nice city safe, clean area. Quaint and clean. Great restaurants
and accommodations. Modernization improvements occur every year.
There are some remnants from being under Communist occupation. Then
only down side to Sarvas, is that they do not take credit cards,
except at the hotels and restaurants. Therefore you will need to
exchange money to take care of your expenses before you arrive at
Sarvas. There are places to change money when we cross the border.
Other small cities around Sarvas also require Euro or Hungarian
Forth. Austria takes credit cards at almost all establishments.
Transporting Guns:
You need to provide information, about 5 months in advance, for
your gun registration & hunting license.
- You must
decide what gun(s) you are going to take with you. I will need
the serial numbers.
- You must
have a locked hard case to transport the gun in.
- You must
have a proof of ownership, or visit the Customs agent in advance
to get proof of ownership before you leave the country. This has
proven to be critical when re-entering the USA.

Air
Travel: |
Best to travel as a group to the hunt. Helps with lower air fair, clearing customs and entering into Hungary. Customs into Hungary can be fickle, but coming out is a lot
easier. Since we work with the government in advance we have never
had a problem with entry or exit. However, since we are carrying guns it is best to go as a group.. |
|
Note:
The reason we do not fly into Budapest, is because last year they
confiscated passengers guns when they were going hunting. Therefore
we need to fly into Vienna, where they will give us no problems.
Hungary does not have guns to rent or use. |
Reservations:
Paul and Suzanne would love to have you join them on
this fantastic trip.
We will make the hunt reservations and the initial reservations
for the flights ( when we travel as a group we get a discount) and
